Getting Started

The first step is to sign up for membership. While there is a level of membership that is free, paid members receive additional benefits. You can review the membership offerings from our Membership page. Paid memberships are designed for high volume customers or those who need faster turnaround. You can upgrade anytime.

Then review our website and select the services you need. Add the service or services to 'Your Job' and then checkout. Upon check out, you will fill out our editing preferences worksheet so we can train your team to match your editing style. After payment, you will be prompted to upload your photos. Please be sure to include some sample files of images you've edited so we can use them as a guideline in addition to the style survey. Please review our videos for more information on how to upload files.

Picsera primarily services professional photographers and businesses that depend on high-quality photography including stock photography companies, creative agencies, printers, museums, libraries, product catalog companies, and online retailers. The prices published on our website are for Picsera members only.

We do not restrict our service to the professional market. If you are a non-professional photographer please reach out to us so we can assess your project requirements and our ability to serve you.

We start by having you complete a short worksheet. The styte preferences worksheet is important as it helps us to understand your current post production workflow activities. On the worksheet we ask you to provide links to your online galleries and portfolio. Our team of editors will review your work and will start to document their observations to record your style. We understand that each of our clients are also artists and each has their own unique style, preferences, and requirements. It usually takes about one to two orders until the Picsera team is fully synchronized with our client’s unique qualities and styles.

Picsera primarily uses Adobe Lightroom for culling and color correction services. We also use Adobe Photoshop for composites, retouching, extractions (clipping paths), panoramas, and HDR.

Uploading Files

Within the order confirmation page Picsera offers you two choices of how you would like to send your images.
The fastest way of delivering images to Picsera is to use our Web Uploader. The web uploader is automatic and you can drag and drop your images into the web uploader window when this option is selected.

Another fast way of uploading your images is to use Dropbox. By granting Picsera's App access to your Dropbox account, you are enabling a connection that improves file sharing between you and Picsera, this means that you will be able to access your Dropbox files from the Picsera website.

File Formats

Picsera works with all file standard imaging formats including Camera RAW, JPGs, DNG files and Lightroom catalogs and smart previews.

To save time when sending events such as weddings we suggest using a Lightroom Catalog with Smart Previews or Small DNG files.

To achieve the highest quality on custom retouching, please send the Camera RAW files.

For clipping paths, Picsera will return a JPG file, but you may request a PNG instead.

For retouching and composite work, Picsera will return JPGs by default. As an optional service, you may also request flattened PSD or TIFF files.

For our Lightroom workflow we return a Lightroom catalog. In addition, we can send web ready JPGs for this workflow as an add on service.

For our Bridge workflow, we return XMP files. We can also send web ready JPGs as an add-on service to this workflow.

You will receive an email containing a link to the finished files. If you have DropBox, you also have the option of saving the files directly to your DropBox folder.

Optionally, Picsera can deliver files straight to your website, FTP site, or other online platform. You will need to provide the necessary information and discuss this with your Team Captain.

Tracking Orders and Turnaround Times

Log into the Picsera Dashboard and click on the Recent Orders Link. The My Orders page provides a status of your job and tells you the actions that can be performed in the process. The My Orders page will make it easy for you to always know 24/7 where your order is and when to expect it to be completed.

Turnaround times vary based on the type of services requested and the number of images uploaded. If you need your order rushed, please contact our Customer Support Desk to see about getting your images returned sooner. If we can make it happen, we will be happy to do so!

Most jobs are delivered with 3 days to a week maximum. If you need faster service, you may order a rush. If you consistently require faster turnaround times, consider our Premium membership. If you are a business that requires next day deliveries on all orders, ask for a quote for Picsera for Business.

Memberships

Picsera offers professional photographers a wide range of post-production services that are available as a complete bundle or on an individual a la carte basis. In addition, Picsera works with you on workflow solutions that fit your business. You can outsource certain activities or you can outsource your entire workflow to Picsera.

Think of Picsera as your own in-house photo editing team. If you hire an employee, you have the benefit of direct access and direct communication. With Picsera, you get the benefits of hiring an employee without the hassle of making payroll and providing other benefits. And, Picsera's artists are trained and certified by Janice Wendt, a Professional Photography Association Photographic Craftsman and photography industry veteran for more than 30 years.

Unlike other online service providers, in which your interaction with the company is only through a website, with Picsera you will have direct access to your team captain either by phone or email. Think of your team captain as your personal production manager who has your back at all times.

To top it off, Picsera is a U.S.-based company, eliminating time zone and language differences you face with other outsourcing providers. We make it easy to talk with someone and develop a productive working relationship.

We are a great fit for serious amateur and professional photographers who do 1 at least one paid job per month. We also work with many businesses that rely on high-quality photography, regardless of who captured the images, to sell products or services

You will have email and telephone access to your team captain. He or she is available during U.S. business hours. You will have email-only access to your entire team as well.

All Picsera customers are automatically added to Picsera’s Standard subscription plan which is FREE. If you would like the guarantee of working with the same artists from job to job or if you need faster turnaround times, then sign up for the Premium plan as it provides a 20% discount on all orders and it reduces your delivery times by as much as 2 business days on most orders.

You can cancel at any time, but Picsera does not refund premium membership fees.

There is no contract. You can cancel your membership at any time. Picsera does not refund membership fees paid in one lump sum for quarterly, biannual, or annual plans.

We work until we please you. We will provide unlimited revisions until we get it right. That said, Picsera reserves the right to say no to your revision request if we believe they are not feasible due to technical limitations in the images provided or if the request exceeds the scope of work you ordered.

Picsera primarily uses Adobe Lightroom for the majority of the editing services. We also use Adobe Photoshop when performing custom services such as retouching, restoring, and re-creation. Examples include teeth whitening, head swaps, background removals, braces removal and the creation of composites. We also have clipping path creation services available to be used in Photoshop.
